Southampton Blitz Walks

 
23rd, 30th November and 1st December

Three tours are to take place on the 70th anniversaries of the three main days of the Southampton Blitz: 23rd, 30th November and 1st December. They will begin each day at 12pm at the Bargate. There will be no charge.

The 'Blitz Walks' will visit some of the many vaults that were used as air-raid shelters and point out some 'above ground' sites that featured strongly, during the blitz of 1940. The walks will be organised alongside the Southampton Blitz 70th Anniversary Commemoration Service at St Mary’s Church on 30 November 2010 (7-8.30pm).

Please note that that numbers on each tour are limited to 25 persons, on a 'first-come-first-served' basis and are unlikely to suit those with limited mobility as vault steps and stairs need to be negotiated.
