City Life Education and Action for Refugees

CLEAR aims to improve the quality of life for refugees and asylum seekers in Southampton, providing free advice and supporting people in accessing local services to which they are entitled. We believe in empowerment through education, and in practical action to support established and developing refugee communities.

 

Advice Service

We run an advice and guidance service for refugees and asylum seekers that is open three days a week at the YMCA, George Williams House, Cranbury Place, Southampton SO14 0LG.

English Classes

CLEAR ESOL for Beginners is a free ten week course for absolute beginner speakers of English. The course runs all year round.  CLEAR also hosts ESOL courses for improvers provided by Eastleigh College.

The Avenue Multicultural Centre

In partnership with the Red Cross and Avenue St Andrews United Reformed Church, we run a weekly drop-in centre for asylum seekers and refugees.
