Volunteering
CLEAR welcomes and supports the contribution of volunteers to the project and the added value that they bring. CLEAR relies on volunteers to provide back-up to its paid staff in many different roles.
Six long serving and dedicated CLEAR volunteers were awarded 100 hour certificates in January 2011 for their voluntary work. Jilly, Brenda, Dennis and Elaine all received their certificates for volunteering in the CLEAR beginners’ class, while Viv and Jean were awarded theirs for mentoring and befriending roles. The certificates were awarded by the Mayor of the City of Southampton, Councillor Carol Cunio, on Thursday, 20th January 2011, at the Mayor’s Parlour, in the Civic Centre, at a special ceremony.
If you would like to volunteer with CLEAR, please email volunteering@clearproject.org.uk and include your name, email address and phone number.
We will then email or phone you to talk about which areas of our work you are interested in helping out with and to arrange an appointment for you to visit us. Please be patient with us, as we have many potential volunteers applying at the moment. We will do our best to get back to you within three weeks. Several of our roles now have a waiting list, as we are over subscribed for those areas. Please note that you cannot start volunteering with us until we have received back two satisfactory references for you.
After you have visited, we will ask you to fill out a volunteer information form, including two references, and, depending where you are volunteering, a CRB (police) check form.
