Nicky reminds us that we are children of God and what this means for us. In the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 we see God’s great love for us. The father gives the best robe, the signet ring and sandals to the son who returned home. The robe symbolises the restoration of honour - the robe of righteousness in Jesus. The signet ring restored authority - the son was able to represent the father, just as we are able to do - we carry the authority of Father God. The sandals may seem ordinary but were a symbol of being a son, part of the family, beloved by the father - we are not servants, but loved children of God.
Today may you know the great love of God; that you have been made righteous, carry authority, and are a beloved child of God.
