Street Light is a mobile chaplaincy and multi-agency outreach service supporting people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping across Southampton.
Many people sleeping rough face multiple disadvantages including trauma, poor physical and mental health, substance dependency, poverty, social isolation and repeated disengagement from support services. Through regular street outreach, practical support and compassionate relationships, Street Light provides a trusted and accessible point of contact, helping people reconnect with the services they need and sustain engagement over time.
Delivered through a partnership of churches, charities and statutory agencies, Street Light combines chaplaincy, practical support and professional collaboration to help people move from crisis towards stability, recovery and renewed hope.
Volunteer
Street Light relies on a team of compassionate volunteers who are passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Our outreach volunteers work alongside trained staff and partner agencies during regular mobile outreach sessions, helping provide practical support, a listening ear and a welcoming presence. Whether serving hot drinks, distributing essential items, chatting with people on the streets or helping create a safe and supportive environment, every volunteer plays an important role.
Volunteers receive appropriate training and ongoing support, including safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Fundraise
